"Del Toro always renders his films’ social critiques in fantastical and imaginative images, and The Shape of Water is among his best." VOX

The Shape of Water finds Guillermo del Toro at his visually distinctive best, matched by an emotionally absorbing story brought to life by a stellar Sally Hawkins performance.  Guillermo del Toro walked away from the Oscars with both Best Director and Best Picture Oscars for The Shape of Water, his science-fiction fairy tale about a love story between a mute woman and an amphibious fish god, which is exactly as weird as it sounds. But also rather sweet, and an incredible film that deserves all its accolades and statues. At first, this seems like a tale about a woman taking pity on a creature being abused by its captors. But it very quickly evolves into more than that, where Elisa quickly develops romantic feelings in the creature. The Shape of Water is a fairy tale for adults.

Enjoy a night of magical fable telling, come early for dinner at the cafe with a great menu on offer. BYO.
